David K. McHaffey, the firm founder, is a spirited advocate for his clients inside and outside the courtroom.
Mr. McHaffey initially worked in the nonprofit community as staff attorney for Catholic Charities and then as the asylum attorney at the PAIR Project. He went into private practice in 2003, where he has developed his skills as an asylum attorney and litigator.
Mr. McHaffey has also been an active member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He served as the Asylum office liaison for more than ten years and has served on the executive board of the AILA New England Chapter. He was the 2015-2016 Chair of the AILA New England Chapter. Mr. McHaffey also taught immigration law at Boston University School of Law as an adjunct professor since 2008.
